Mr Soong Chua has been a specialist orthopaedic surgeon in Melbourne for the past seven years.
Born and educated in Australia, Soong completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 2001 and finished his fellowship training in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012.
Soong went on to undertake further training overseas in London and Milan, where he was involved in the treatment of professional athletes.
In London, he completed the prestigious Calvert Fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth before continuing his training at the world-renowned Fortius Clinic.
In Milan, he worked at the Istituto Clinico Humanitas, one of the most highly-esteemed orthopaedic units in Italy.
Since his return to Melbourne, Soong has developed additional expertise in joint replacement surgery, and he remains committed to the advancement of orthopaedic surgery. He continues to work in the public system through his appointments as a consultant orthopaedic specialist at both the Austin and Box Hill Hospitals and has been appointed as an AOA supervisor of training for orthopaedic trainees at the Austin Hospital.
